Arts Education - The Creative Edge

Arts Orange County provides leadership as an advocate for quality, equity and access of standards based, comprehensive arts education in the county's K-12 schools.

Arts Orange County believes that the arts provide a unique pathway for all students to view the world, create meaning and
develop their minds. Studies have shown that the arts provide lifetime benefits and are unsurpassed in their ability to engage students in learning and empower them to make change in our world.

Under the mentorship of Arts OC and in partnership with the California Alliance for Arts education, local alliances are being formed to support school districts’ strategic arts plans to insure that every student has access to a quality, standards-based arts education.

Each Local Arts Education Alliance believes:

• Learning in and through the arts educates the “whole” child

• Excellent arts and cultural resources can partner with us to create outstanding schools for all of our children.

• Even in tough economic times, Orange County schools must provide arts education.

To be in the loop on arts education efforts in your school district, please contact your local alliance coordinator.

Download a Local Arts Alliance flyer in English, Spanish, or Vietnamese.

If you would like some high-quality, 4-color copies of these fliers, please email info@artsoc.org.
